Ciao!
I am Lorena, a baker with a passion for Italian food and a very sweet tooth!!!
As an Italian, I was born with an inherent love affair with food, itโs in my blood and itโs the core of Italian family life. My memories of growing up always involve sitting around the dinner table with family and friends, enjoying an infinite number of courses, lasting hours on end, but the highlight for me always came at the end of the meal when we had the โDolciโ. Often these would take the form of delightful miniature pastries known as โPasticciniโ bought from the local Pasticceria. Full of rich Italian flavours such as Chocolate and Hazelnut, Limoncello, Coffee and Amaretto, these assorted pastries were a true feast for the eyes and palette and perfect for sharing. โSei goloso!โ my mamma would say, she was right, I have always had a sweet tooth, and some things never change!!! My baking is inspired by these childhood memories and the whole ethos of Italian family life, which is why I choose to bake from home, in the same way generations of my family have done before me.
Being Italian I have also inherited the desire to make people happy by feeding them, there is nothing more satisfying than seeing people enjoying the fruits of my labour. Making dolci is more than simply a profession to me; itโs a passion, creative outlet and a strong wish to bring joy to others. Letโs face it, who doesnโt smile when they eat cakes and desserts?!
I am not a trained pastry chef and I make no apologies for it, my skills come from years of watching and helping my mother bake, my love of recipe books and lots of trial and error. Not forgetting my background in performing arts which has leant itself well to being creative and adding โdramaโ to my baking. Pasticceria Lorena was born in 2014 when I turned my baking hobby into a โbake to order businessโ and I havenโt looked back since.

Without you, I would not be able to do the job I love, so I make it my priority to put you front and centre of what I bake. My aim is to get a โwowโ reaction and put a smile on your face and if I donโt then I have failed at my job. With the latter in mind, I promise to give you nothing but the best ingredients, bake and finish to your cakes with unquestionable taste and uncompromising quality because I am a stickler for perfection, so nothing goes out of my kitchen unless it looks beautiful and tastes divine.
I will match that with a reliable and excellent service, paying attention to every little detail so that all you have to worry about is how you will stop yourself from eating all the cake.
